Product Owner Design System

Wat je gaat doen

You’ll take functional responsibility for the Design System team and ownership of NN’s Design System ‘Matter’ as your product. Matter includes all resources (design libraries, code component libraries) and documentation (principes, guidelines, patterns) our UX designers and software engineers use on a daily basis to work on our websites, portals, and apps. To keep the team aligned and focused, you translate the department’s long-term objectives into vision, OKR’s, and a product backlog. As countless teams across the organization use your products, you build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include:

• Visionary product leadership
• Value-driven development
• Product backlog development and maintenance
• Collaboration, stakeholder and expectation management
• Utilize modern product development practices
• Manage tools such as ZeroHeight

You have a background in engineering, design, or product management and know how to combine these disciplines to ensure you deliver value. It goes without saying you:

• Recognize the impact of your decisions on other parts of the organization

Prior experience with establishing or scaling design systems is a plus.

The Design System team is a multidisciplinary product team including a Tech Lead, Software Engineer, and UX Designers (as well as ad-hoc support from an Agile Coach). It goes without saying we follow Agile methodologies and empowered product team principles. The atmosphere in the team is informal and international-friendly. You report to the manager of the DesignOps department within NN’s Customer & Commerce business unit. Outside the team you will collaborate a lot with Group Branding, colleagues of the UX Design and Engineering guilds, your fellow PO’s, and other stakeholders (including International).
