At a glance
The Team Lead Value Delivery Team Basel supports the Grid Owner FR and the Business lead Basel to optimise change implementation to the Basel Chain. This is achieved by setting the correct conditions for the Basel developments teams to implement change in an orderly and timely manner, which must safeguard the Bank’s conformity to internal and external regulatory requirements.
Your job
The Team Lead Basel Chain manages a team of 15-20 experts in the Basel regulatory and change implementation area. Your team is responsible for the operations and change activities of the Basel chain, which enables the financial reporting of the Bank. These implementation solutions target the processes and applications supporting the Basel Chain including the calculators (e.g. implementation of Basel IV legislation, control frameworks, adjusting data sourcing, material change assessments etc.).
Your team works closely with the IT department in Development and Operations (DevOps) teams that operate and maintain the systems and functionalities. You translate changes in business and regulatory requirements into concrete proposals and execute accordingly. You closely collaborate with internal stakeholders including Risk Management, Business units, Finance Reporting and Regulatory Experts to identify required changes, prioritise and resolve impediments.
As the Product Owner/Expert lead VDT Basel you are responsible for:
- Leading one of the three Basel implementation teams of Business Developers and Product Owners.
- Developing the vision and roadmap for Basel in coorperation with the Grid Owner and Basel Business Lead.
- Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders of Finance, Risk, Business and Operational Risk Management (ORM) in order to ensure effective collection of requirements.
- Actively seeking solutions relating to the improvement and development in the Basel domain.
- Provide transparent, timely and accurate management updates on planning, progress and dependencies
Working environment
You operate within the Financial Risk Grid and within the Basel domain specifically. You report directly to the Business Lead Basel and together with him and the other Basel Expert Leads you represent the interests of the Basel domain internally as well as externally. Together with your team of developers you sculpt the future proof solutions for Financial Risk and Basel change implementation. The Basel block consists of approximately 60 colleagues, who all share the passion for continuously improving the compliance of Basel and financial risk deliveries. You also contribute to the medium and long term strategy for the Basel landscape.
Your profile
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business administration or comparable level;
- Experience with interacting with various stakeholders across departments in the bank and with senior management;
- You have good knowledge of credit risk and regulations, modelling, banking products, financial institutions and risk management and 8-12 years working experience in a banking environment;
- Proven experience and interest in Financial Risk processes and in leading support of the Financial Risk Processes and chains;
- Experience with managing a team of knowledge driven staff;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
- You are a enthusiastic, proactive, assertive and result driven team player, who can work independently and is able to translate strategic views and plans into concrete execution;
- Knowledge of regulatory compliancy requirements, Basel regulations, prudential reporting and/or RWA calculation, IFRS regulation.
